Mountain Ridge, Udaipur

mountain ridgeYour first impressions of Mountain Ridge will probably be the space, peace, quiet and the breathtaking panoramic views.
After a short acquaintance, you will feel that Mountain Ridge is just like home. There is no quit like it for perfect relaxation and though the city is merely a few minutes’ away, Mountain Ridge is in another world…

Mountain Ridge occupies the top of a high rocky bluff, just outside the ancient village of Sisarma. On the eastern side is a mountain that separates Sisarma from Lake Pichola, to the south is protected forestry land. To the West are the beautiful hills and valleys and little tribal settlements that are there waiting to be explored, and to the north, rises Bansdara Mountain, topped by the majestic Monsoon Palace.

The City of Udaipur is only a few minutes’ away, so you are not far from the shops and landmarks, but the short distance from the city to Mountain Ridge makes all the difference in the world as far as the tranquility is concerned. The sounds of horns, brakes, loudspeakers and other noise pollution seem a million miles away. Mountain Ridge enjoys balmy days of fresh air and peace, and delightful velvety nights of gentle breezes and only the sound of crickets.

There is so much you can do – swimming, trekking, going on a village safari, bird watching, mountain walking, having a massage or just sitting & relaxing with your favorite book with a soothing sounds of nature.

Pahuna Haveli, Udaipur

pahuna haveliWelcome to Pahuna Haveli…

Pahuna Haveli is built in the Mewar style of architecture surrounded by beautiful, lush gardens; a source of pride for Hemant Kumari. Hanwant Singh, son of Brigadier Jaswant Singh worked for many years in the tea plantations of NE India & the coffee plantations of the South. On his retirement, he and his wife Hemant Kumari returned to live in Udaipur at Pahuna Haveli.

About Us:

Udaipur is known as one of the the most enchanting and colourful cities of India. Surrounded by the Aravali Mountains, it is a city of tranquil lakes, sprawling gardens, majestic forts, palaces and intricately carved temples.

In 1559 A.D. Maharana Udai Singh shifted the capital of Mewar from Chittorgarh and founded the city of his dreams Udaipur. UdaI Singh had many sons, the eldest was the legendary Maharana Pratap Singh and another was Viramdev. Pahuna family is the descendant of Viramdevji.

The family of Viramdev were bestowed the ‘Thikana’ of Pahuna, near Bhilwara. Pahuna has remained the ancestral home for the Pahuna family for generations. Although the ancestral home is still in Pahuna, the present family spends most of their time 165 km away in Udaipur, where their residence is known as Pahuna Haveli.

This is the home of Hanwant Singh & Hemant Kumari. Hanwant Singh, son of Brigadier Jaswant Singh worked for many years in the tea plantations of NE India & the coffee plantations of the South. On his retirement, he and his wife Hemant Kumari returned to live in Udaipur.

Accommodation:

The idea of providing accommodation was more than anything an opportunity to meet people and make friends: Hemant enjoys socialising and is a keen cook. Delicious home cooked food, prepared under hygienic conditions is provided. Since the aim is to create a truly homely feel, this is termed as a ‘Home Stay’.

To maintain our standard and to enable us to give our full attention to our guests, we keep only 7-8 rooms going at a time. Each room is exclusively designed and beautifully furnished.

The atmosphere in the haveli is homely, comfortable and stress free. Rooms are clean and spacious. Most guests go back saying that they have had an unforgettable experience staying at Pahuna Haveli.
